The celebration of Christmas 2015 in Hong Kong

The celebration of the Great feast of Christmas in Hong Kong. The Orthodox Community in Hong Kong celebrated the Nativity of Christ in a solemn and joyful manner.

After a 40-day period of prayer and fasting the Orthodox Community in Hong Kong, as well as all the Orthodox Communities in Southeast Asia and in the entire world, celebrated the Great Feast of Christmas.

His Eminence Metropolitan Nektarios of Hong Kong and South East Asia presided over the service of the Great and Royal Hours of Christmas on Monday evening, December 21, 2015. After the dismissal, Metropolitan Nektarios explained the meaning and the symbolisms of the service of the Great and Royal Hours to the faithful who were in attendance.

Metropolitan Nektarios presided over the Christmas Liturgy, assisted by Presbyter Jeff Yang,  in the presence of many faithful at Saint Luke Orthodox Cathedral on Thursday evening, December 24th. The Metropolitan delivered a homily about the meaning of the great feast after the dismissal of the Liturgy and he delivered Christmas sweets to all the faithful.
