SUSPENSION LETTER

            Fr. James,

From the very first moment when I visited the Philippines I embraced you with love and I supported you to study and to prepare yourself for priesthood. I entrusted to you the great office of priesthood. With great sadness I realized that you demonstrate disobedience to your Bishop and his orders.

As a bishop and spiritual father I must take measures in order to remind you that you have to follow the orders of your Canonical Bishop. My patience has run out.  Your unacceptable stance is creating great problems for the missionary work of the Orthodox Church in the Philippines.

For this reason as of today I am suspending you and you will not have the right to celebrate the Holy Liturgy and the other Sacraments of the Church.

This measure has the aim of making you consider with prudence and greater seriousness your outlandish behaviour and proceed to correcting your anti-canonical actions.

As your bishop and spiritual father I will wait for your repentance through your actions, and be sure that I will lovingly forgive you. If, however, you persist in your anti-canonical behaviour I will be forced to take harsher measures.

I pray that the Lord will grant you repentance.

The Metropolitan

† Metropolitan Nektarios

of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia
