Holy Week and Pascha (April 04-12, 2026)

Holy Week in the Orthodox Church is the most sacred period of the Christian year, leading up to Pascha (Easter). It commemorates the final days of Jesus Christ’s earthly life—his entry into Jerusalem, his betrayal and arrest, his crucifixion, burial, and finally his Resurrection. Through daily services filled with hymns, Scripture readings, processions, fasting, and prayer, Orthodox Christians are invited to reflect on repentance, suffering, and hope, and to prepare spiritually to celebrate the victory of life over death at Pascha.
