On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, presided by His All-Holiness, elected three new Metropolitans at the Patriarchal Church of St. George: Archimandrite Arsenios Kardamakis, former chancellor of the Holy Metropolis of France, was elected Metropolitan of Austria; Bishop Savas (Zembillas) of Troas was elected Metropolitan of Pittsburgh to succeed Metropolitan Maximos; and Archimandrite Constantine Tsilis, former chancellor of the Holy Metropolis of Hong Kong, was elected Metropolitan of Singapore.
